About CCBH
The Communities for a Clean Bill of Health (CCBH) is made up of over 40 national, state and local organizations, including AARP, The American Cancer Society, The American Heart Association, The American Lung Association, The Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids, Children’s Defense Fund, Mississippi Health Advocacy Program, Mississippi Hospital Association, Mississippi Nurses Association, and the Partnership for a Healthy Mississippi.
Since 2002, Communities for a Clean Bill of Health has grown to more than 40 organizations and is comprised of some of the most wide-ranging existing networks in healthcare policy in the state. CCBH plans to mobilize existing member networks across the state to educate the public and policy makers on the health and economic benefit of a significant increase in the cigarette tax. Through a coordinated media, grassroots, and policy advocacy effort, CCBH hopes to realize the goal of a significant tobacco tax increase in Mississippi.
